The story of Shin's past as Shinemon and how he becomes the manager of Card Capital is finally revealed.

In a fishing village on a remote Japanese island, a fisherman named Shinji falls in love with a beautiful pearl-diver named Hatsue, and she with him. However, Shinji is poor, while Hatsue is the daughter of the richest man on the island. Hatsue's father only wants a son-in-law who will add to the (already considerable) family finances, so he doesn't approve of Shinji at all. The situation only gets worse when the villagers start to gossip and spread rumors about the two of them.

Based on the original Manga, "Easter Island: Sea voyage," Sharaku and Wato investigate a mysterious old ship, only to find themselves getting involved in a sea voyage around strange islands. More emphasis was placed on entertainment factors than on theme, and this change in the concept line resulted in this movie being produced by Toei instead of Tezuka Productions. Here, Tezuka Osamu was in charge of only the original story and a synopsis for animation.
