Monkey Turn V

It took a little longer than he had hoped, but Kenji Hatano managed to become the #1 kyotei racer in Japan, after winning his first SG Championship. His career is still young, though, and now he has others who want similar glory, like his old Yamato Academy classmates & new racers he's never gone up against before. However, a freak accident during a race results in his left hand & wrist getting cut open by a propeller, which could very well end his career right as it truly started.

Monkey Turn

Kenji Hatano originally wanted to be a baseball superstar, but didn't like how one player's mistake can hurt the whole team. Upon being shown a kyōtei (mini-hydroplane) race by his coach and sees a special move called a monkey turn, he decides to try it out. After capsizing due to a monkey turn gone wrong, Kenji decides to become a professional kyōtei racer. Two years later, he graduates from the Yamato Academy, and promises his friend Sumi Ubukata that he'll become Japan's #1 kyōtei racer within three years.
