Clannad After Story
Life continues on for Tomoya. A few months have passed since he confessed his love to Nagisa. Now entering the second semester, he continues to meet a variety of different people, expanding his own world in the process. As well, Tomoya and Nagisa's relationship begins to enter a level of intimacy unlike before. Through his relationship with Nagisa, and his various encounters, Tomoya begins to understand the meaning and importance of family. Unfortunately, as Tomoya and Nagisa begin their own family together, they are faced with many hardships and challenges along the way.

In an idyllic rural setting an old bamboo cutter and his wife raise a tiny girl found nestled within a glowing bamboo stalk along with a fortune in gold. As she approaches adulthood the bamboo cutter uses the fortune to purchase a villa in the capital, buy himself a title and employ tutors to transform the country girl—now given the name Kaguya—into a refined woman. News of her beauty brings powerful and wealthy suitors who compete for her hand in marriage, culminating in a proposal from the emperor. All the while Kaguya wishes that she and her family could return to their former life and to be reunited with her sweetheart, Sutemaru. Sooner or later, though, her true origins will make their own claim upon her.

On the way to school one day, he meets a girl called Furukawa Nagisa, who from then on follows him to school every day, unable to climb the stairs by herself. While helping Nagisa to organize the Drama Club, Tomoya slowly starts to open up and actually enjoy his life again. But the dreams he has might be something more than just dreams..
Showa Monogatari
Showa Monogatari is a nostalgic slice-of-life show about a Japanese family in 1964, the year the Olympics came to Tokyo. The father Yuuzou owns a small machine shop where he and a co-worker create finely-tooled metal parts. Yuuzou has problems communicating with his three children -- an older son attending college, a teen-aged daughter discovering romance, and his younger son, Kouhei, a rowdy but good-hearted boy who narrates the show. While Kouhei's experiences form the basis for the story, a good deal of time is spent on his sister's problematic love life, and on the family's financial problems. Each episode includes an epilogue providing a brief "tour" of locations from the story, showing us how they looked in 1964 and how they look today. The OP provides another set of contrasts between 1964 and today using old and new photographs of places appearing in the anime along with the animated depiction of the 1964 images.
