Shinn Asuka and the rest of the crew of the ZAFT battleship , along with Athrun Zala (who assumes a false name), pursue the Phantom Pain but then encounter rogue ZAFT soldiers who intend to drop the Junius Seven colony upon the Earth. After failing to destroy the Junius Seven colony, the Second Bloody Valentine War breaks out, once news has spread that ZAFT soldiers caused the colony to fall to Earth.
