In 2015, CC Corporation's datacenter caught on fire destroying "The World". By splicing in data from what would have been another project, CC Corp. was able to rebuild the game. In 2016, "The World R:2" was released. .hack//Roots covers the time Haseo spent with Shino and Ovan in the guild known as the Twilight Brigade, before the .hack//G.U. PS2 games.

Shooting Starlets Musumet
Seven shooting stars from a distant galaxy have fallen to the Earth. Each of them has one of the rainbow colors and tremendous powers. Doctor Kishida and doctor Mishina got three of them, red, blue and green, in secret. After a long research, they control their powers using a helmet known as "Musumet". These helmets have special functions: they amplify their user's strenght and give him super powers. The two scientists create the secret organization "MET" to use the Musumet's power for world peace and protect the Earth from any posible damage caused by the remaining four stars. However, doctor Mishina and his wife die and their three daughters, Aoi, Midori and Kurenai make the decision to be the Musumets. The three sisters have to battle for the world peace, while the deal with common teenagers problems, like school, love or the three rich arrogant and plastic sisters Marcia, Kou and Shion Saotome.
Megazone 23 Part III
Years after the events of Megazone 23 II, the only city on Earth is the supposedly idyllic Eden. There lives Eiji Takanaka, a B Level hacker who has just been accepted into EX, the organization that controls Eden. However, before his first day on the job, he becomes embroiled in a network war, a legendary figure named EVE, and a plot to re-inhabit the Earth.
Elementalors
After a family tragedy, Kagura is left with only his beloved friend Asami for consolation. Meanwhile, there is a war beginning in the spiritual world. Beings known as "Elementalors" call upon power from spirits to maintain harmony in the world by balancing individual forces of nature. Lord Shiki, a water Elementalor, kidnaps Asami in order to use special powers she posesses to retrieve his daughter, who has been imprisioned for nearly destroying the Earth. Kagura discovers that he is also an Elementalor - a very powerful one. He must join forces with other Elementalors to save Asami and prevent Lord Shiki from causing a great imbalance by releasing his daughter.
